Space Year in Review: A 2025 Recap and 2026 Outlook

In 2025, global space activity continued to expand. Launch numbers climbed, satellite constellations surged, and a widening roster of nations asserted their presence in space. With that expansion came a sharper edge to the operational, safety, and security challenges in the domain, and heightened concerns about the increasingly complex behaviors from foreign satellites that demanded closer scrutiny.

During this “Year in Review” event, hosted by the CSIS Aerospace Security Project, LeoLabs CEO Tony Frazier delves into these developments and more that reshaped the space landscape. Tony is joined by Kari Bingen, director of the CSIS Aerospace Security Project, Clayton Swope, deputy director of the Aerospace Security Project, and Dr. John Huth, former Chief of the Office of Space and Counterspace at the Defense Intelligence Agency.
