As CEO of LeoLabs, Tony is focused on advancing the company’s vision to be the leading mission partner for persistent Orbital Intelligence that preserves the U.S. and Allied advantage in space and fosters the growth of the global economy. His leadership is devoted to enabling military space commands, civil government agencies, and commercial operators to confidently detect, track, characterize, and respond to threats in space. Tony’s career is marked by a strong commitment to innovation and mission-driven outcomes. At Maxar Technologies, Tony was the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Earth Intelligence, leading a 1,200-person team to shape and execute programs of record across the U.S. Government and with more than 60 partner nations in support of military and intelligence missions. During his 13-year tenure, Tony helped lead the geospatial intelligence community through a period of significant adoption and technological advancement.

Earlier in his career, Tony led teams at Cisco Systems and Infor, where he built collaborative environments that fostered innovation. He is a passionate advocate for leveraging technology to solve complex global challenges and is dedicated to driving solutions that enhance stability and transparency, resilience, and operational excellence. Tony holds a B.S. in Systems Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA with distinction from Harvard University. He currently serves on the boards of Iridium Communications, Auria Space, the Intelligence and National Security Alliance, the Intelligence and National Security Foundation, and the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship. Tony is also an Advisor for Mission Fulfilled 2030 and an Executive Mentor for the Patti Grace Smith Fellowship program, where he supports initiatives that champion diversity and empower the next generation of national security leaders.

Prior to co-founding LeoLabs, Dan worked at SRI International, a not-for-profit research laboratory, where he was the Program Director for Space Debris Tracking, the Deputy Director of the Ocean and Space Systems Center, and the supervisor for the Allen Telescope Array, which is a radio astronomy facility in northern California. Dan got his start in the space industry working on the design of the Terrestrial Planet Finder Coronagraph (TPF-C) as part of a research program supporting NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. His work investigated the optical performance of advanced concepts for imaging Earth-like planets orbiting other stars. Dan is also a Technical Advisor to Space for Humanity. This non-profit seeks to greatly increase the number of people who have experienced space flight and thus promotes the greater use of space. He holds a Ph.D. and MS in Electrical Engineering from U. C. Berkeley and a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia.

As a physicist, engineer, pilot, former NASA astronaut, educator, and serial co-founder, Dr. Edward Lu helps protect satellites from hitting debris and asteroids from hitting Earth. Download Bio

His NASA career spanned 12 years, including flights aboard the Space Shuttle (STS-84 and STS-106), Soyuz TMA-2, and the International Space Station (ISS – Expedition 7). In addition to LeoLabs, he also co-founded the planetary defense and science non-profit B612 Foundation in 2002. He currently serves as Executive Director of the Asteroid Institute, which is a program of B612 Foundation. Ed flew aboard the Space Shuttle twice and on the Russian Soyuz to the ISS, where he did a six-month tour. He has logged over 206 days in space and an EVA (spacewalk) totaling six hours and 14 minutes. In 2003, in the weeks following the loss of the Space Shuttle Columbia, Ed was called upon by NASA to launch to the ISS to maintain operations on orbit with a two-person skeleton crew. He completed the Russian Soyuz training in just nine weeks and became the first American to launch as the Flight Engineer aboard a Russian Soyuz spacecraft.

Ed and Cosmonaut Yuri Malenchenko then spent six months aboard the ISS, demonstrating that the station could be maintained while carrying on productive scientific research with only two people. Recognitions in Ed’s NASA career include administration’s highest honor, the Distinguished Service Medal, as well as the NASA Exceptional Service Medal, Russian Medal of Merit for Spaceflight, Gagarin Medal, Fédération Aéronautique Internationale Komorov Medal, Beregovoy Medal, and three NASA Spaceflight medals. In 2024, Ed was inducted into the International Astronautical Federation’s Hall of Fame. Ed has published peer-reviewed papers on astrodynamics, planetary science, high energy astrophysics, plasma physics, solar physics, cosmology, and statistical physics. He has also published technical policy related editorials in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, and Scientific American. He holds a BS in electrical engineering from Cornell University and a Doctorate in applied physics from Stanford University.

John is a recognized expert radio frequency circuit design, analog electronics, radio communications, antennas, and radar, with specialization in remote sensing and space applications. Download Bio

He spent more than 30 years as a Principal Research Engineer at SRI International before LeoLabs spun out of SRI in 2016. At SRI, John led design work and field deployment for several radar technologies, including high frequency and phased array radar systems like those used by LeoLabs day. John holds multiple patents and has also been published in numerous journals on radar and radio science technology. He holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from San Francisco State University and is a member of the IEEE EMC Society.

With more than 20 years of experience in financial leadership across both private and publicly- traded technology companies, Ramsey brings invaluable financial expertise to LeoLabs. Most recently, he served as CFO at Brillient Corporation, where he was responsible for coordinating strategic growth and overseeing the company’s financial and risk management functions. In this role, he designed and executed financial and operational strategies, set performance metrics to drive success, and implemented control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting. Prior to joining Brillient, Ramsey served as Vice President of Finance at Maxar Technologies, where he played a pivotal role in managing its Enterprise business, overseeing approximately $150M in annual revenue.

During Ramsey’s career at Maxar, he supported various parts of the business, including pricing and contracts support for commercial satellite access, online platforms, budgeting and investment governance for CAPEX intensive operations, and 3D technology value added products to customers across the public and private sector. Before Maxar, Ramsey successfully led high-profile M&A projects, including the $140M acquisition of Vricon Inc. by Maxar Technologies in 2020. Throughout his career, he has been involved in multiple billion-dollar M&A transactions across the commercial space and technology industries. Ramsey is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Master’s degree in accounting from UNC Kenan- Flagler Business School.

With over 25 years of legal and business experience, Karen is a seasoned, mission-focused leader with a unique blend of government and private sector expertise spanning early-stage startups to established companies. Download Bio

She brings critical and strategic legal, regulatory, acquisition, and policy leadership, having built scalable legal and compliance operations throughout her career. Her experience includes a strong track record of developing and executing strategic corporate initiatives that transition U.S. Government contracts such as Small Business Innovation Research awards, Other Transaction Agreements and other USG contract vehicles into programs of record to accelerate business growth. Karen’s contributions have been formally recognized by the National Security Council, the U.S. Secretary of Commerce, and the Intelligence Community, underscoring her impact on space and advanced technology legal initiatives. Karen played a key role in drafting the U.S. Commercial Remote Sensing (CRS) Space Policy signed by President George W. Bush which, coupled with her drafting of the U.S.’ CRS regulations, significantly advanced the commercial imagery sector and facilitated the acceptance of commercial imagery globally, making it ubiquitous as an expected part of our everyday lives.

Before joining LeoLabs, Karen served as Chief Legal Officer at Rebellion Defense and was the first Chief Legal Officer at SAILDRONE Inc., an innovative, advanced technology company in autonomous ocean data collection. Her previous experience includes being a Founding Partner of SLG | The Space Law Group and serving as General Counsel for PlanetiQ and Global Weather and Climate Solutions Inc. She has also worked with Booz Allen Hamilton, leading legal and policy initiatives for advanced technology and commercial remote sensing in support of the Warfighter and the Intelligence Community. Finally, she has served as the Satellite Programs General Counsel for the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the Senior Intellectual Property Attorney for the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology. Karen holds a BA in French Studies and Chemistry from Northwestern University and a JD from The George Washington University’s National Law Center, focusing on intellectual property.

With a distinguished career spanning more than two decades in government and industry, Karen previously led government relations for nearly 10 years at Maxar Technologies, where she championed policies that accelerated the growth of the commercial Earth observation and space infrastructure industries.

Karen’s additional experience includes serving as a Government Affairs Manager at Intelsat, a Congressional Analyst with the U.S. Air Force, and a Military Legislative Assistant for the U.S. Senate, specializing in national security and space. She served as an Executive Committee Member on the Commercial Spaceflight Federation from 2021 to 2024. She has also been a Board Member with the Washington Space Business Roundtable, Women in Aerospace, and the Society for Satellite Professionals International, which awarded her its Promise Award for leadership in 2012. Karen holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Denver and a master’s degree from the Naval War College.

With two decades of experience in the geospatial and satellite industry, Maher came to LeoLabs from Maxar Intelligence where he was the Head of the Middle East and Africa region. Prior to the restructuring of Maxar into two separate businesses, he served as its VP of International Enterprise Sales. Maher holds a B.S in Computer Engineering from Boston University and an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
